Joining us today, we have one of the experts in the fitness industry, Dan John. He has spent his life with one foot in the world of lifting and throwing, and the other foot in academia. An All-American discus thrower, a competitor in the highest levels of Olympic lifting, Highland Games and the Weight Pentathlon, an event in which he holds the American record. He’s an author, a lecturer and is also an online religious studies instructor for Columbia College of Missouri.
Dan shares with us some important information about functional fitness and things we all should be doing to help avoid injuries from falls. Dan says “learning to fall & recover is something we aren’t doing a great job of”. He states the most dangerous thing in our home can be the floor and statistically it is better for us to have cancer than to fall and break something.
