David Richman is a man that has been through a journey both physical and spiritual. In his late 30’s, David was overweight, sedentary, unhealthy, and in an unhealthy marriage. It was making him miserable, living his life that way, and then he decided to make a change.
He started working on his physical and emotional health. Started taking steps to being a better him. From working out, to getting into a better home life, all the bad things from the old David had to go. He’s now completed over 50 triathlons, several 24-hour runs, and most recently biking 4,700 miles to meet each of the people who had stories that would be in his book, “Cycle of Lives.”
The book was written about 15 people, and their loved ones, who are/were suffering through the painful disease of cancer. David’s own sister had passed away from terminal cancer, and he wanted to collect and tell these stories to help people everywhere who are fighting their own fight against this disease or who have a loved one that is.
The book is truly uplifting, showing people how to deal with the emotional toll of this tragedy, and how to be strong despite it. Helping people on their emotional journey through this disease, showing people that it’s okay to talk, it’s okay to be there, and that it’s always better to have tried than to not have tried at all.
Cancer is something that hits close to home for all of us, especially the Overcomer’s Podcast’s own Cyndy and Travis Barnes. Cyndy just having fought against it herself, and Travis being there for her every step of the way.
I hope you all enjoy this podcast. It was emotional and incredibly helpful to those that are fighting this fight. Thank you, David, for talking to us. We hope we can again soon.
